Drop off & Pick Up

School Starts At 7:30AM

Students should not arrive at school before 7:15 AM unless requested to do so by a teacher or early bus arrival.

School Ends At 2:35PM

Running Late or Going To Be Absent?

Please call the school office (970) 587-6302 before 9:00 a.m. on any day your child will be absent or late and state the reason. Your call will ease our concern and eliminate the need to call you. (A secretary will call to verify the absence of any student whose parent has not already contacted the school.) Students are required by state law to attend school unless they are ill, there is a family emergency, or there has been a prearranged absence. The student should bring a note giving the reason for the child’s absence when he/she returns to school after an absence where the parent was unable to call the school.

  • PLEASE BRING YOUR ID TO CHECK STUDENT IN OR OUT OF SCHOOL.

Safety is our priority.

Please follow the Drop Off and Pick Up Guidelines.

RMS staff will be ready to receive students at each door beginning at 7:15 a.m.

Please do not drop off your child prior to this time as there will be no supervision.

Our student drop off/pick up will be on the west side of the building on Greeley Avenue (see graphic below).  Staff will be out to supervise students beginning at 7:15 a.m., so please do not drop your child off prior to this time if possible. The front of the school on 2nd Street will continue to be dedicated to our school buses.  In the event you need to pick up your child up during the school day, please utilize the visitor parking in front of the school.  Please do not park in the fire lane, which is identified with red paint on the curb. Please note traffic flows in one direction to the north in this zone.

If your child is running late to school, they will need to enter the main entrance after 7:30 a.m.
If you are dropping off your child at the school, please remind them to use the crosswalks.

At the start of each school day, we expect our Mustangs to wear their school id around their neck and proceed to their grade level entry door. School ids will be handed out after the first few weeks of school. Until then, they will not need to wear them. Once your child receives their id, it is important they wear it visibly on their neck or waist every day. Ids are worn for school safety and security and used for breakfast and lunch.
